Reading Notes. Part B
Rabbit
Jataka Tales by Ellen C. Babbitt
I like this story because it uses a similar plot line that can be related to other stories told but in a different way. For my story, I would like to use a similar idea. I could use a common tale and create my own version of it using different characters.
Monkey
Eastern Stories and Legends by Marie L. Shedlock
In this story, they include short stanzas toward the end and that is something I may want to use in my stories. The monkey turns out to be clever in the end. I would like to make my one of my characters that way. The monkey gets to a tough spot but is able to quickly turn his own luck around.
Crane and Crab
The Giant Crab, and Other Tales from Old India by W. H. D. Rouse
This story was a little sad because it resulted in fish and a crane dying and I was not expecting that but I still understood the reason for it and the moral it was trying to portray. I definitely believe in the idea of karma and this story had similar reference to what karma is like so I could use that in my stories as well.
