Storybook Favorites

When I was going to choose from myth folklore or Indian epics, I automatically gravitated towards myth folklore. That was probably because I love reading stories that are myths, they remind me of when I was a little girl and would ask my grandpa to tell me stories. From these I browsed the list of storybooks and was able to come up with three.

The first I looked through was Ghost Stories. I love scary stories and this immediately grabbed my attention. Anytime people bring up scary stories I am always very eager to listen. Whether they are true are not, it is still something that interests me. This topic is very familiar to me. The title of the storybook was accurate as to what was in the storybook. It was organized by story. The introduction provided a clear and concise explanation of what was going to be in the storybook. The stories were all relevant and organized in a way that made sense. The introduction was written in a way that appeared to be based off of the writers personal experiences and so that made it much more interesting. The layout worked perfect for the this storybook. I was very drawn to to the formatting of this because each tab was based off of a different family but they were connected by the house itself.

Similar to the first story, this one is also a "scary" story one. I always like knowing about places that I am familiar with and if they are haunted or not so the title grabbed my attention immediately. I have heard people talk about OU being haunted so this topic was one I was familiar to. The introduction elaborated on the title a little more and explained what stories were contained in this storybook. In the introduction they include short sentences on each story or that grabs the readers attention and makes them want to click on the tab to read more about it. Each story included a different picture but the original picture in the introduction was taken at night so that added to the spooky effect of the stories.
The image above is from this storybook. The story is about an encounter in the Bizzell library at OU.

The design worked well for this storybook. They included various images to give the reader an idea of what to picture as they read through the story. I would use this for my own project in the future.

This storybook is different form the other two as far as what the content is. It is still from the list of myth folklore. The topic is familiar to me because I am intrigued by artificial intelligence. In a way, like the others, it can be somewhat scary to think about. This storybook was based off of that. The introduction gave a reader an idea of what it was going to be about. It brought up four characteristics about AI and then towards the end it concluded the introduce with a chilling end that makes the read want to keep reading more about it. From the title I would have never guessed it was going to be about AI. The stories are all separated by what they will be about. Like the other storybooks, this one also had images that were applicable to each story and made sense. I would include similar images as well as the design in own. They placed their images within the paragraphs and that made a lot of sense so I will be using that in my own.
